SENIOR HIGH NEWS

Notes from Us:

We are moving along through the snow nicely this year…why it was just the first snow fall of the season, by now we are all seasoned pros!  I hope you have been enjoying your snow days – as an adult I think they should give us snow days to, not make us drive through the snow and slush and cold to stinky ol’ jobs, but let just go sledding and/or not getting out of our jammies all day!  Truly enjoy the snow days because when you don’t get them anymore, it is a bummer.  Upbeat News (to those who dislike sleeping), we will have our first lock in of the year in February.  I do enjoy the lock-ins and hanging out and getting to know you all better, I think it is the two hours of sleep I am not crazy about.  Maybe we can shoot for three, and dare I say, four hours of sleep this time!

Happy Ash Wednesday (the 6th) I cannot believe Easter is coming so early this year.  More on Easter next month – but, in the mean time, Happy Lent Starting!

As we are looking forward to the groundhog seeing his shadow (that is the one that brings spring faster right?) I am hoping to start planning our annual Youth Sunday.  This year we will be going about it a bit differently.  I will have all of you turn in your written sections earlier to me so I can help you out by typing them up for you for easy reading.  Happy February!

February News:

We will help the Presbyterian Women on Super Bowl Sunday when we serve the people of the church soup.  This is always a nice event and will tie in (since it is food) to our soup kitchen/homelessness mission trip theme this year.  We will, I am sure, be talking more about the mission trip after the serving!

Then we will have our first lock-in of the year on the theme of LOVE.  Woooooooooooo!!  We will meet at the church at 7:00 p.m.  We will have games, junk food, discussions and more junk food.  Lock-ins are a lot of fun with the more people you have so we are hoping for a great turn out!   Feel free to bring friends, but make sure to have all the permission slips for you and friends filled out!! See you on the 16th!

March News:

In March we will be having a meeting to help prepare us for the Mission Trip and the issues we will be facing with the people we will be working with.  I definite meeting for those going on the mission trip and those looking to learn more about what is happening in the world today.

The second meeting is a mystery – that is all I can say…(cue the spooky mystery music)
